There was a recent study in the " New York Times " ( https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/31/well/move/morning-exercise-may-offer-the-most-weight-loss-benefits.html?rref=collection%2Ftimestopic%2FExercise&action=click&contentCollection=timestopics®ion=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=collection ) that shares a study that examining the best time of day for people to exercise. The study found that with all things being equal; same cardio, same exercise routine, same length of time of performing fitness related activities, can lead to people having different fitness outcomes.
They propose an idea called : " Chronobiology " whose definition is the study of phenomena that impacts on our bodies due to the cyclic nature of solar and lunar time rhythms. The study found that working out earlier in the morning has a beneficial effect on body change.
Granted we exercise when we can and time of day is usually a matter of " convenience " . But regardless, exercising consistently on a regular basis is what makes the most sense for getting results when exercising.
