Making a Plan for Fitness Success! Part Two

Hello everyone! Hope you are well and in a good space!

In my last blog I touched on the theme of " Managing Stress" so that we could get active and maintain our fitness during this difficult time. I wanted to add to the touch points I made before:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • fatigue
  • anger
  • apathy

to be able to cope with the above triggers We need to create:

  • A Supportive environment.  Having family, friends and if possible co-workers either join you or hold your feet to the fire. Helps to make good habits stick!
  • Hold ourselves accountable. Make a fitness journal mapping out your fitness schedule. Wear an iWatch, FitBit, or any accurate "tracker' to help you reach stay on point with your fitness endeavors. Having a device that monitors your steps, heart rate, distance walk/run, # of calories burned. Can MAKE a huge difference if you see the respective metrics change as you get more in shape. There are a number of fitness apps available that can help you make sense of what the science means to YOU
  • Recognize Triggers. Ever been to a movie and not had a large popcorn with melted butter and salt? You know that sounds and tastes good!. This is an example of a typical "lifestyle" trigger that can cause us to deviate from the course we are trying to establish concerning an active lifestyle. Knowing that you are going to a bar with friends that may end in DRINKING and SMOKING is not to JUDGE. But, If it's managing calories and minimizing actins that are KNOWN RISK FACTORS for "lifestyle oriented dis-eases" ( i.e increase weight , lethargy, high blood pressure ) again DEVIATES you from your course, which is to live an active lifestyle
  • Move!  This without saying is the cornerstone of any attempt to be as fit as you can be. I know we have the best of intentions as we attempt to exercise and move our bodies. But, it's HARD. That's why having a fitness professional can make all the difference in the world in helping you to reach your fitness potential. Helping you:
  1. Make plan
  2. Structure a work out
  3. Hold you accountable
  4. Assist you with a nutrition plan
  5. Get you Results.

Training is a project that needs a team of people working together to help you on your journey to a fitness success. By scheduling time with a fitness professional it'll take the guessing game out of the equation and you'll have a more structure journey to changing your body for the better.

Like the last blog and this current one. managing the daily challenges that lay before us can be met with a plan, proper support and a commitment holding yourself accountable can make or break your fitness. Get a trainer so that you can succeed!
