Some Holistic approaches to reducing Blood Pressure

In the last blog I sent. I outlined a chart that helps you to figure out what your blood pressure range should be.

In this blog, I'm going to discuss some of the best activities to help you manage and control your blood pressure.

Fortunately, these are low tech activities that don't involve:


  • medication
  • doctors


The only thing you need is a quiet space, a mat, some small weights and your good to go!

Mind-Body activities that can help you lower your blood pressure would be things such as; yoga, meditation and going on walks or hikes.


According to an article in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology the above listed activities were able to lower blood pressure points in both the Systolic and Diastolic ranges.


You ideal healthy range for blood pressure in the resting state ( non exercising ) is Systolic ( the top # ) range from 120 - 129 and Diastolic @ or below 80.

Walking at a steady state and not exceeding 130 bpm is an excellent way to condition your heart so that it's stronger and therefore more efficient at pumping oxygenated blood throughout your body. The more conditioned your heart muscle is at pumping oxygenated blood the better the effect which will decrease your overall blood pressure in your body.

To get a accurate blood pressure reading take a reading over 3 consecutive days preferably at the same time to get a range for your blood pressure and then compare that # to the chart in the last blog.

If you are within normal your are good to go. If you aren't see your primary care physician and get a check up to rule out any potential risks.
